How to play

The rules of sudoku, in one minute

Sudoku is a logic puzzle played on a 9×9 grid divided into nine 3×3 boxes. Some numbers are filled in to start — your job is to complete the rest using reasoning alone. No math required.

  1. 1

Fill every row with the numbers 1 to 9 — each used exactly once.

  2. 2

Fill every column with 1 to 9 — no number may repeat.

  3. 3

Fill every 3×3 box with 1 to 9, again with no repeats.

  4. 4

When the whole grid is filled with no conflicts, the puzzle is solved. Use notes to track candidates as you go.
